I miss NYC. I’m glad to be going home in a few months to hopefully get a job in the media or government, but I will still be counting down until hubby and I have a packed u-haul and are heading to NYC.
This is the White House at the end of October. I love hubby’s job, it allows us to finally see the places we always wanted!!
My baby! I love the look of his face in this one. So adorable!!!

What’s not to love about this photo? Just strollin’ with some penguins in 1937…

We went from Washington, D.C. one weekend to Los Angeles the next. Had a blast with friends and ate this delicious goodness.
Really, I can’t wait to move to the beach. Eat In-n-Out without flying 2,000 miles in a day to get it. Laugh until my throat hurts with friends on the weekend. Have a normal job!

When Jimmy Stewart went off to serve in World War II, he wasn’t like most privates… For one, he was in his 30s. For another, he had won an Oscar for The Philadelphia Story. Putting his Hollywood career on hold to join the United States Army Air Forces, Stewart ultimately reached the rank of colonel, flew 20 combat missions, and came back on the Queen Elizabeth wearing the Distinguished Flying Cross.
For the September 24, 1945, cover story, LIFE’s Peter Stackpole followed Stewart around his hometown of Indiana, Pennsylvania, as he visited family and old friends before getting his military discharge.
In this gallery, see what happened when a Hollywood legend went home a hero.
